What's Up!

If we exalt ourselves God will humble us, but if we humble ourselves God will exalt us!
Although I was/am planning/hoping to move this fall or winter, I still do not have the where, so instead I will seek to live in what I know. I do know that I would like to live a more obedient life in loving kindness and I have the desire to be more generous in giving to the needy of this world. So until further notice I shall strive to give and to be obedient to His word in love, faith, and hope. May God's Spirit help me in this venture! He is good and if we are faithful in the little things, He will put us in charge of bigger things.

As it is written "He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little" and "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:
"He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever." Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:6-11"

Have you ever considered that God might not just tell you what to do? Maybe He's waiting for you to just make some plans that you'd like to do. If He really wants to close the door He'll do just that. But if you just sit around waiting for a cosmic sign to drop out of the sky, you might be waiting a long time. This isn't to try and insult you but give you something to think about. It's not "God helps those who help themselves" theology, but if you look at Abraham you see that God called him out... just like you. But you'll never know where you're going to go if you don't start somewhere.

Thank you, anonymous for the comment. I think you may have misunderstood the purpose of this blog. It's not What's up?(like "God, why haven't you told me?") but What's up!(what I'm up to right now) You are right, we shouldn't just sit waiting for some grand sign in the heavens(Although did you know that right now Mars is going to be closer, as of Aug. 2nd, than it will ever be again in our life time...bah, bah, bummmmmm!!!!!) That is kind of what I was saying, I don't know where to go but I'll still end up going somewhere this year knowing He is with me! And it doesn't matter where(I'd just like to know because I'm a bit of a control freak sometimes) My point is that I don't need to know the where, I just need to be obedient to that which His Spirit has placed on my heart. And right now that is trying to love others and to be more giving(not as a rule but from my heart). And your is exactly right...I need to start somewhere, but then perhaps It's not so much start as continue on somewhere else. He does guide us though and we do have the mind of Christ (perhaps seeing it will be winter Hawaii is a good place to start!) So I thank you for your concern and you can be sure that if I can't walk by sight, then faith will be my guide. We should be diligent in keeping our goals by the faith that He has put on our hearts, so instead of worrying I shall try to bear fruit! :]

P.S. when I said until further notice, I meant to the reader, not to me.

Sounds to me like you're going to be wherever you are living now (Cold Lake?) come September. It seems like you have dodged the intent of my comment too. Are you hoping for Mars to be closer or are you going to just go and let God put the pieces together? Sometimes it's not about waiting (although that has its place) but about actually stepping out in faith instead of just talking about it.

Berst wishes.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to dodge your intent. If your intent was to encourage me to step out and move in faith, knowing that God our gracious Father can stop me from going somewhere I shouldn't, then I think I understood it, but if that wasn't it please clarify your intent(I've never claimed not to be dense in understanding the intent of others).
